un mare di vino

Un mare di vino winery was created from the love Gioacchino Sini senior had for his land and its products. In  1949 together with his sons Pietrino and Pasqualino he decided to plant the family vineyard. In those days in Sardinia anyone who worked the land ended up planting vineyards, more out of passion than for real commercial purposes.

The area selected for the vineyard was Berchidda, a small town near Olbia and Tempio, bordered on one side by Monte Acuto and on the other side by the sea of Gallura. In this windy and sunny area, the climate is ideal for producing Vermentino Gallura, as well as different fine red wines. In this way  the story of Un mare di vino winery began, run today by Gioacchino Sini junior and his family. Gioacchino, a qualified expert in agriculture and Viticulture studies and oenology , decided to make his contribution to the company by leading it towards a great change, at the same time  keeping it well grounded in tradition.

Terra e Mare

Vermentino di Gallura D.O.C.G.

Terra e Mare displays a straw yellow color and bright green hues. The bouquet is full bodied, intense, and quite persistent, evoking the grapes themselves. Hints of Mediterranean scrub, golden apple, grapefruit, broom and wild flowers. It is wine with a genuine character. Ideal as aperitif, it goes well with simple spaghetti with tomato and basil or with clams, the Zuppa Berchiddese (savory bread and cheese pudding), but also sushi, seafood, light fish main courses, vegetable pies, fresh cow and goat cheeses.

The Chef’s pairing

Roasted artichoke, anchovy and bottarga in three different textures.

A great classic revisited in a modern key, where the artichoke is sautéed in the pan to give it a hint of roasted flavor, then combined with a cream of anchovies and bottarga in 3 different textures.
